Doctoral Research Opportunites​: Data Ecologies Lab (deLAB)

Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE)

Seeking doctoral students to join our Data Ecologies lab. These funded doctoral studentships will focus on emergent organizations and technologies, particularly (but not limited to) the sciences, including infrastructure, software, data and novel instrumentation. If you are interested in these topics (and their cousins), consider applying.
  • Science and Technology Studies 
  • Infrastructure Studies 
  • Data Science & Big Data -- social organization and consequences 
  • The practice and history of science & technology 
  • Long term or sustainable thinking in the sciences and technology
Methods will be ethnographic and archival. Other skills a plus but not necessary, such as programming or design. For specific questions about the PhD & my specific projects, email David Ribes (dribes@uw.edu).
